Ami Altom Is Latest Caught in the Act Award Winner
There are four young men in DeSoto Parish who are pretty sure that Ami Altom hung the moon!
These little guys are all members of "The Menu Masters" and Ami is their coach in 4-H and through her love, leadership and dedication to these guys, 4-H, and DeSoto Parish overall, she was able to coach them to a recent Louisiana State Championship!

It takes a lot of time and commitment, but Ami doesn't see it as work. She loves that she's able to invest in these guys and watch them grow!

Mrs. Ami has helped us become a great team and has helped us grow in culinary arts. All the way from cooking club to now in the jr. chef program. Without her the menu masters wouldn’t be a team. She is the reason that we are state champion chefs and the reason we are allowed to do what we do. Without her none of this would’ve been possible. She is the definition of the desoto difference. She loves everybody even though not everybody loves her. She makes desoto parish better.-Cash
Mrs. Ami has helped me grow into the kid I am today. From the Cooking Competition Meltdown, To the 4-H Camp Jitters, I have become more confident in myself and my friends. She has helped me be a Leader, and a good citizen. Mrs. Ami has helped all of her 4-H members, it is very evident that she loves us so much, and not only us but Desoto Parish itself. Mr. Ami is loving, caring and will do anything for her members! She will do anything for her, club, community, her country, and the world.-Cooper

Mrs. Ami Altom has made a big difference in our Jr. Chef Club and in 4-H throughout DeSoto Parish. She works hard, encourages us, and teaches us many things. She has helped our club become the team we are today. Mrs. Ami believes in us and always wants us to do our best.
