Bossier City’s Only Korean Corn Dog Spot, Gina’s Waffles & Dogs, Closes

We’ve all seen what happens when our community rallies behind a local spot. Seeing everyone show up to support local staples like PJ’s Coffee after the local spot asked for a day of love proves how much heart Shreveport-Bossier really has when we show up for each other. Hopefully, you’ve kept them in your regular morning routine for a fresh brew on the way to work!

But unfortunately, we just got a heartbreaking reminder of how fragile our small business community really is.

Quietly, without a massive announcement, a huge farewell party, or much noise at all, another unique local treasure closed its doors for good on August 31st.

If you ever drove past 2307 E Texas St in Bossier City, you definitely noticed the vibrant sign for Gina’s Waffles & Dogs. Known best by locals simply as "Waffles & Dogs," this cheery Korean-inspired eatery was truly one of a kind. They served up incredible K-Dogs, Korean corn dogs made with yeasted dough, fried to perfection, and often finished with potato cubes or a dash of sugar, alongside overloaded Hong Kong bubble waffles packed with ice cream, fruit, and toppings. It was quirky, fun, and delicious.

Now, the storefront sits quiet, and there’s no word yet on who or what might take over the space.

When places like this vanish without a sound, it hurts. Many of our favorite local restaurants and shops are hanging on by a thread right now. Running a small business in today's economy is tough, and our local entrepreneurs need more than just our good wishes, they need our actual foot traffic, our word-of-mouth recommendations, and a little extra love from their neighbors.
