Remembering the Iconic Restaurants That Defined Shreveport and Bossier
Unless you've got plenty of time, a willing ear, and an extra-large helping of patience, never ask a native Shreveport/Bossier person about their memories of restaurants and Northwest Louisiana cuisine from days gone by.

Bring up many of the newer restaurants to the area and it will become painfully obvious that today's restauranteurs and their latest spin on an all Mexican menu has left patrons desiring more dining options.
What happened to the days of chicken fried steaks, great fried fish, and servers that stay in one place long enough to become real friends to their customers? Of course, it could be argued that if those places were so good, what caused them to go out of business to begin with?
Not taking anything away from some of the great restaurants we have today, but there just appears to be something missing. Maybe we're just nostalgic about anything from that golden era in Shreveport/Bossier when this really was a "City on the Grow". (Remember those billboards)

As you look through these, just note the variety we had in those days. Not everything was of one type. It would appear that whatever your taste buds were yearning, there was an option.
