When it comes to fine dining in Shreveport, one local staple consistently serves up not just the most iconic dessert in town, but arguably one of the absolute best bread puddings in all of Louisiana.

Superior’s Steakhouse offers that quintessential upscale dining experience you truly deserve, all set inside a comfortable, classic Chicago-style steakhouse atmosphere. It has long been the go-to spot for life’s big celebrations, from milestone anniversaries and lively birthday parties to unforgettable, romantic date nights. But while the prime steaks are always worth celebrating and the appetizer menu is packed with impressive options, I have one major piece of advice for your next visit: do not go overboard on dinner.

Why? Because you need to leave room for the grand finale.

The secret to Superior’s legendary bread pudding lies in another beloved local treasure, Southern Maid Donuts. Using fresh local donuts as the base creates the most incredible, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Honestly, I swear someone’s grandma must be in the back blessing every single batch before it hits the table! The pillowy donut texture acts as the ultimate sponge, soaking up every drop of their rich, warm Southern Comfort sauce before being crowned with a massive scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream. It is absolute perfection on a spoon.

To take things to the next level, I paired mine with an espresso martini. Now, I hadn't tried an espresso martini finished with a touch of fresh orange before, but the combination was incredible. It had a unique, vibrant twist that reminded me of a cocktail you’d sip at a luxury resort in Mexico. The flavors came together so harmoniously that it’s almost dangerous, they’re so smooth and delicious you could easily order a few without realizing it, so tread carefully!
