Shreveport Police officers arrested a woman after responding to a domestic violence incident involving a firearm early Saturday morning.

On November 30, 2024, at approximately 3:17 a.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment at 1535 River Parkway Boulevard, Apt. 803, in reference to an armed person. Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim, who reported that his girlfriend, 27-year-old Sade Fortune, had pointed a firearm at his head and pulled the trigger. Fortunately, the gun was not loaded.

The victim further stated that Fortune was also armed with a knife during the altercation, resulting in a cut to his hand. According to the victim, the incident stemmed from a conflict related to his involvement with another woman.

Officers located Fortune at the scene and arrested her without further incident. She was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Theft of a Firearm, and Aggravated Assault Upon a Dating Partner.

The Shreveport Police Department reminds the community that violence is never the answer in romantic relationships. Conflicts should be resolved through communication or by seeking professional assistance. Remember, as the saying goes, there are plenty of fish in the sea.

We are grateful no one was seriously injured in this incident.
