Shreveport Police Respond to Midday Armed Person Call on Fuller Street

A local man is behind bars following a midday confrontation in Shreveport that involved a firearm. Shreveport Police Department officers dispatched to the 500 block of Fuller Street around 1:00 p.m. on August 10, 2026, after receiving reports of a suspect armed with a rifle making threatening statements in the area.

Bystander Video Captures Threats and Rifle Brandishing

Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers interviewed witnesses who had captured portions of the altercation on their mobile phones. According to police reports, cell phone footage showed 34-year-old Robert Turner walking through a residential yard while openly carrying a rifle-style firearm.

Police Recover Firearm and Book Suspect on Felony Charges

Investigating officers quickly took Turner into custody without further incident. A search of the immediate area revealed a rifle laying in the yard near where Turner was detained; officers recovered the weapon along with live ammunition as evidence.

Investigators determined that the incident stemmed from an ongoing personal dispute between Turner and the second individual. Turner was transported to the Shreveport City Jail and officially charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
