Fleeing from law enforcement is a felony offense that can result in jail time and the potential loss of certain constitutional rights. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in these incidents; however, SPD stresses that these dangerous situations could have been avoided entirely through compliance during a traffic stop.
Shreveport Police issued a statement saying: Public safety is our top priority, and fleeing from an officer is not only a crime but also a direct threat to everyone on the road. We urge citizens to think twice, and avoid unnecessary risks.”
The SPD remains committed to ensuring public safety and addressing these incidents with the seriousness they deserve.
