Shreveport Police Arrest Two Women for Child Abuse

The Shreveport Police Department have two women behind bars after they discovered a horrible case of child abuse.

Yesterday afternoon, SPD was called out to Boulevard Street to reports of a 2 year-old with bruises and cuts. Once Officers saw the severity of the injuries, Detectives with SPD's Juvenile Crimes Unit were called to the scene as well.

While Detectives were investigating, they saw 8 long marks on the child's back. Police say the marks looked like they came from an electrical cord. The marks had deep bruising and broken skin. Shreveport Police also noted marks on the child's thighs and face.

After interviews from Detectives and other investigation, Patricia Jackson and Larisha Coleman were arrested and each charges with one count of Cruelty to a Juvenile.
