LSU Football Climbs To #6 After Dominant Clemson Victory
LSU Football has been the talk of the football world for weeks now. From courtrooms to the endzone, people have been taking notice. Including the SEC, who even threatened to expel the Tigers from the conference this week.
While that heat has been turned down a bit, the temperature of the team keeps rising.
LSU Football Breaks Into The Top 10
After LSU housed Clemson 51-10 in Baton Rouge, the Tigers have had a little bit of a different week. Instead of being the scourge of college football, there were a lot of loud national voices who started treating LSU a lot differently. To the point where the polls pushed LSU into the Top 10 in the nation, landing at #6 on the list.
They land behind teams like Georgia and Texas, who played some very questionable competition in their opening weekend...while LSU lined up against National Championship level coach Dabo Swinney and Clemson. Obviously for many voters, the LSU thrashing of a premiere college football brand meant something.
Now LSU Takes On Louisiana Tech
The Tigers weren't the only Louisiana-based team with an impressive final score last week. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs had a historic night against the Northwestern State Demons, with a final score of 80-6 in Ruston.
Now LSU will host Tech, and if anyone is going to score 80, it's probably not going to be the Bulldogs. This is setting up for the LSU Tigers to potentially pad some stats for the season...literally, you could see Sam Leavitt put up numbers that will haunt the Heisman race down the stretch.
Tech is probably going to be a good team this year, they're going to win games...and might become bowl eligible. But this LSU team has a chip the size of Tiger Stadium on their shoulder...LSU is embracing the villain role, and that might be bad news for Tech.
